In his new book, Prof. Dr. H\u00fcseyin \u0130lker \u00c7\u0131nar (founding director and head of IFIS&IZ) addresses the question of which qualifications and requirements must be met for a competent understanding and contemporary interpretation of the Qur\u2019anic text and which methods and sciences must be applied for a hermeneutically correct approach to the Qur\u2019an. To answer these questions, after a general introduction to the Qur\u2019an and its textual genesis, the most important disciplines of Qur\u2019anic scholarship (\u02bful\u016bm al-qur\u02be\u0101n) are treated in depth within 26 chapters in light of classical and contemporary sources.
