KUDEM e.V.

In 2004 Professor Dr. Çinar initiated and founded KUDEM – the Cultural House of European Muslims in Mannheim. KUDEM promotes projects and creative activities in the field of art, culture, music and science. Since its foundation, KUDEM continues to offer a range of courses in calligraphy, marbling art and music including classical Turkish Sufi choirs and concerts.

KUDEM Children’s Library

The KUDEM Children’s Library offers more than 50,000 books in German, English, Turkish, Arabic and French. The books are contemporary and suitable for children. First and second graders from different cultures are able to find literature to assist with their linguistic and reading skills development. It is also serves to ignite a passion for classical and modern literature in young people.

IFIS&IZ

The Institute for Islamic Studies and Intercultural Cooperation is a newly founded institute located in Mannheim. It is based on a civil initiative. The opening ceremony took place in conjunction with the institute’s first international symposium: “Spirituality in religion and culture” during June 2011. Here, Professor Dr. Çınar established an academic library on Islamic Theology housing over 75,000 books covering five languages (Arabic, Turkish, German, English and French).

IFIS&IZ Publications

IFIS&IZ Publications aims to set up an authentic range of principle literature on Islamic studies produced in major Western languages: English, German, and French. Through intensive research undertaken by IFIS&IZ, the publications aim to counteract prejudice and misunderstandings, to contribute to peace and facilitate mutual understanding between people from diverse backgrounds and cultures thereby, promoting reciprocal respect.

IFIS&IZ al-Ġazzālī Academy

In 2016, IFIS&IZ’s Al-Ġazzālī Academy commenced the classical-Islamic Madrasa Studies program, which is derived from an academic perspective in a European context. The initiative and the concept underlying this unique project in Germany has been developed by Professor Dr. Çınar.

IFIS&IZ Islamic Library

The library has been designed to meet the requirements of IFIS &IZ. It is a scientific specialist library with an exceptional collection of Islamic Theology, Islamic Studies and oriental studies texts. Altogether the library collection holds over 75,000 books in Arabic, German, Turkish, English and French languages.
